San Diego Region Projects Honored at CMAA Awards

Two project teams were recognized on April 10th at the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) San Diego Chapter’s Annual Awards Banquet.

The annual Construction Management Project Achievement Awards program recognizes outstanding achievement in the practice of construction management.  The process is competitive, with the best in San Diego construction management submitting nominations. The Judging Committee considers outcomes, overall management, safety, quality management, cost management, schedule management, complexity, innovation and creativity, and customer satisfaction as the basis for the award.

 

Southwestern College’s Math, Science & Engineering Building was honored with a Project Achievement Award for buildings greater than $25 Million. In attendance to accept the award were Southwestern College’s Senior Project Manager Michela Ferluga and the Rudolph and Sletten team of  Kyle Specht, Project Manager; Armando Sandoval, Project Manager; Mark Legier, Sr. Project Engineer; Carlos Moreno, Superintendent; Travis Ehman, Assistant Superintendent; and Yadira Sanchez, Field Office Coordinator. Nick Lawrence, Project Engineer, attended for key subcontractor Dynalectric.

Seaworld San Diego’s Electric Eel Roller Coaster was honored with a Project Achievement Award for buildings less than $25 Million. In attendance to accept the award were SeaWorld San Diego’s Vice President Darlene Walters and former project manager John Redlinger. The Rudolph and Sletten team present included Nestor Comandante, Sr. Project Manager; Susan Haas, Sr. Project Engineer; Dave Jesme, Preconstruction Executive; Israel Moreno, Superintendent, Jerry Presley, Superintendent; Yoshua Neuman, Sr. Project Engineer; Andy Rogers, Project Executive; and Howard Mills, Vice President.

Electric Eel Project team members not in attendance: Katerina Milovanoska, VDC/BIM Manager; Sammy Rivera, Field Office Coordinator; Jonathan Broomfield, Preconstruction Executive; Christian Flagstad, Sr. Cost Engineer; and Ramon Moreno, Jobsite Safety Coordinator.
