Rudolph and Sletten’s pre-construction services and expert scheduling allowed for the earlier than expected finish. By finishing a few days early, the casino was allowed “back of house” access for various support departments, such as facilities, finance, surveillance and food and beverage, giving staff a head start preparing for opening night.
“Our company’s focus on stellar pre-construction services that emphasize budgets and schedules lead to an earlier than expected completion date,” said Howard N. Mills, Senior Project Manager for Rudolph and Sletten. “The Red Hawk Casino is a perfect example of how our preplanning efforts can greatly contribute to an excellent finish producing an incredible entertainment facility with the surrounding infrastructure needed to support it.”
In addition, the project included major infrastructure improvements to the Rancheria and a 1.2 million square foot, eight story parking structure with 3,100 parking spaces.
The gaming facility is a three level braced steel frame structure built on a steep hillside location. The casino also has retail space and six full service restaurants, four casino bars, a childcare facility, and an arcade.
Rudolph and Sletten was selected for the project because of its experience in building California’s Native Indian gaming and hospitality resorts, and its unique strategic partnership with the nation’s largest builder of hotels and casinos, Perini Building Company, Inc. Rudolph and Sletten, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation, is fast becoming a leading builder of Native American projects.
