Mar Vista High School Aquatics Facility & Central Campus Modernization

The new aquatics facility is a design-build project with sitework that will encompass a 50 meter pool and a Pool Facility Building.

The Pool Facility Building is designed with an efficient layout that includes an attached Concession Building and restroom facilities with accesses on either side that can be used for pool activities and/or campus activities. Bleachers with permanent shade structures will be added near the pool along with over 2,600sf of additional shade canopies adjacent to the Pool Facility Building. A plaza, marquees, site lighting, fencing and a security system allowance will also be included in updating the facility.

Updating the Drill Yard will provide a secured drill area for the ROTC program and can be utilized for other campus functions. Rolling gates will provide vehicle access directly from the service road to the pool deck.

A new entry design, for the Ceramics Building, allows for a more cohesive access to both the ceramics classroom and the existing classroom. Storage rooms were added for student projects and materials. A relocation of the kiln area and utility sinks will also help with the function of the building.
